A Workshop for Police & RCMP Partners

Learn why shutdown happens
and how to reconnect.

From Distance to Connection:
A Workshop for Police & RCMP Partners

Next live date: Wednesday November 19 2025 | 6:30–7:30 PM PST

When the person you love shuts down, it’s not rejection — it’s protection.

Policing trains emotional control and compartmentalization. At home, those same skills can make partners feel distant, unseen, or shut out.

This live, 60-minute workshop helps spouses and partners of police and RCMP members understand why shutdown happens — and how to reconnect without pressure or conflict.

You’ll learn:

  • The nervous-system reason for emotional shutdown (it’s not personal)
  • The difference between needing space and withdrawing
  • The pursuer/withdrawer loop and how to step out of it
  • Simple tools that actually work in real life:
      • The Switch — questions that invite connection
      • The Two-Sentence Approach — what to say when they go quiet
      • The Connection Menu — small daily choices that rebuild closeness

Includes: Replay recording, downloadable worksheet, and printable scripts.
Length: 60 minutes
Price: $47 CAD for the first 10 seats, then $67 CAD
Next live date: Wednesday November 19 2025 | 6:30–7:30 PM PST

Hosted by Dr. Catherine Currell, Registered Psychologist,
and Author of The Invisible Wounds.

This Is for You If…

You love someone who wears the badge…
This space was made for you

You’re in the right place if you’ve ever:

  • Worried about them every time they walk out the door

  • Felt like no one outside “the job” understands

  • Carried the stress for both of you — silently

  • Been the emotional anchor, even when you’re exhausted

  • Wondered where you fit into it all

👉 Take our 2-minute quiz to find out what kind of “Badge Life” support you need most.

Get a personalized survival strategy and join others who understand.

You don’t have to carry it alone.

Who Is The Police Doc?

Meet the Psychologist Who’s Helped Hundreds of Police Families

I’m Dr. Catherine Currell — a licensed psychologist, a listener, and a quiet fighter for the women behind the badge.

Over the past decade, I’ve worked with officers and their families through trauma, tension, and everything in between. The late-night phone calls. The emotional shutdowns. The feeling of being invisible — or overwhelmed.

That’s why I created The Police Doc — a space just for spouses. Not clinical. Not cold. Just real-world support, tools, and community… from someone who understands the culture and the cost.

✔️ Licensed R.Psych with 10+ years in trauma,
couples, and police mental health

✔️ Experience working with RCMP and municipal officers

✔️ Culturally competent, non-clinical approach for real-world stress

✔️ Advocate for both officers and their families
